Socks Visit Disney World

Special treat for the twins! I took them to Disney World! They cried in joy when I revealed this surprise. No way that Eric would have ever taken them to such a sock-friendly place!

There were so many kids around in the Magic Kingdom, but surprisingly, I saw a couple of other families bringing their socks to play too. Some were striped, some were running socks (New Balance), and I even saw a few dress socks hanging out at Epcot. Of course, none of those socks were quite as gray and fun as Eric's old socks!

The twins favorite ride was the new Under the Sea ride (Little Mermaid) though they're always a fan of Buzz Lightyear too. After a fun two days, they begged me to come back next year. I told them if they're good, I just might do that. Nothing like Disney World to incent your socks to behave!

Thailand - Bangkok

The final leg of our trip was Bangkok. The twins were ready to see city life after a couple of legs in beach towns. Well, they got some of that and they also got to see a ton of Buddhas and temples! After a while, it started to look the same though. I could tell they got bored. They're not too into "culture" yet. As they get older, I'm sure they'll appreciate it more. I also get the sense that they're growing a bit tired in general. It's humid and hot outside, and socks tend to get pretty moist when you're walking around. Anyhoo.... some pics from our trip!

You can see the twins toward the right. They're small but there they are! Smiling as always!

Another pic of the twins hanging out.

This dude was cool. He was making monk bowls by hand. Impressive.

We went to the snake farm and saw this guy hanging out. The socks wanted to pet him, but I said no. I was tempted to throw them at its head to see what would happen but the better parent in me refrained.

We spent one day at Ayutthaya City and saw the Buddha in the tree and the ancient temples.

Hangover 2 spot at State hotel.

Khao San road. The backpacker area as seen in "The Beach". Some stupid tourist try to buy my socks from me. I told her they weren't for sale, nor were they Thai. Duh.

So our trip ended October 7th. Wow, was it a long trip! Flight back was uneventful. I packed the socks in and checked the bag they were in. They slept all the way home!

I sure hope the twins appreciated this adventure. I know that Eric would never have shown them such exciting places. He would have just thrown them on his smelly feet and probably wouldn't even take the time to show them the sights or educate them. What a bad parent. I'm glad the twins are free from his reign of terror! One of these days, I will try and free their brothers and sisters from him so that they too can have these fun adventures and be reunited with the twins!

Thailand - Ko Samui

So I'm behind on my blog posts...

After Phuket, the twins and I headed to Ko Samui and stayed at a resort where a good friend was getting married. Below are some choice pics of our stay in Ko Samui! It was relaxing and the twins enjoyed just hanging out on the beach.
